Paper craft inspiration for this project

The most interesting arrangement is not always the fullest one. A single branching stem can have enough movement for an entire frame. Use fully dried botanical material so moisture is not trapped behind the glazing.

Images are styled inspiration, not step-by-step documentation. Your finished piece may look different.

ONE STEP AT A TIME

Let’s make it.

01

Choose your frame and paper

Cut the backing paper to fit the frame. Test it before adding anything delicate. If the botanicals are thicker than paper, use a frame or mount that leaves enough space so the glazing will not crush them.

02

Try the arrangement dry

Lay the botanicals on the backing without adhesive. Start with the largest stem and add one smaller element if needed. Leave generous blank space. Photograph the arrangement so you can refer to it while attaching each piece.

03

Attach with a light touch

Use tweezers to lift each piece. Apply tiny dots of acid-free adhesive to sturdy parts such as stems, following the product directions. Avoid soaking fragile petals. Replace each piece and allow it to dry completely.

04

Check the fit

Place the backing into the frame carefully. Confirm the botanicals do not press against the glazing. If they do, choose a deeper frame or a suitable spacer instead of forcing the frame closed.

05

Find a sheltered spot

Display the finished piece away from direct sunlight and damp areas. If you hang it, choose hardware rated for the frame and suitable for the wall. A secure shelf display is another option.

A LITTLE HELPFUL KNOW-HOW

Use purchased pressed botanicals or material from plants you are allowed to collect. Do not use unknown irritating or protected plants.

Enjoy it. Take care of it.

Natural colors may fade over time. Keep the frame dry and out of direct sun.
